The description explaining WHY I'm Bella actually isn't that far off...
You are observant, diplomatic and often aim to please. You are unaware of your
attractiveness and despite being uncomfortable with any form of attention, people enjoy your company. You can be impatient, stubborn and headstrong, but you are true to your word and mature for your age, often taking care of your family and enjoying a good book over chatting with girlfriends on the phone
I aim to please, I don't like being the center of attention very much, I'm easy going on most things but am EXTREMELY stubborn on the few things that don't fall into that category, I spend a lot of time with my family, and the good book thing kind of goes without saying (also: am terrified of phones). So, in the Twilight world... does that make me Bella? *ponders*
In other news, this week on the GCC, we have Stacey DeKeyser, who will be talking about her new book, JUMP THE CRACK, on the blog tomorrow. Stay turned.
And in other, other news, for those of you who have been asking for a TV-related post, I give you this, which is a comment that I left on
lizgallagher's blog yesterday, re: how to improve the new 90210.
My roommate and I have come up with a formula for fixing 90210 and awesomefying it. The formula involves swapping out all of the characters for new characters modeled after people on other shows. The same actors can still play them; they'd just be, you know, BETTER. Here is our substitution matrix:
*Silver will be replaced by a version of Faith from Buffy. She'll be more of a rebel and a lot more messed up than current-Silver, but also more vulnerable, and her relationship with Kelly will reflect both of those things.
*Dixon will be replaced with Ryan, from season 1 in The OC. He can still be spontaneously violent, and he can still have the occasional issues about belonging in the family, but he'll drop the "aw shucks" vibe and go for something a little more 'still waters run deep.'
*Naomi will be replaced with Brooke from One Tree Hill. She can still be a sometimes-well-meaning-bitca, but she'll also be smart and sassy and unwilling to let people see her cry.
*Ethan will be replaced with Nate from Gossip Girl. He'll have more storylines involving his family, and the fact that he cheated on Naomi will be an integral part of his character that it expanded on and explained, rather than ignored altogether.
*Annie can be replaced by an early 7th Heaven Lucy (man, it's bad if I'm replacing your characters with people from 7th Heaven), in that she can still be perky and kind of neurotic and always getting herself into scrapes, but the rest of the world will REALIZE that she's crazy and spastic and respond appropriately.
*Lori Loughlin's character can be replaced with the character she played on Summerland, who really isn't all that different, but is a lot better. Rob Estes will morph into Sandy Cohen. And Naomi's mom gets the Julie Cooper treatment.
I think that just about covers it. Most of these changes are ones that the writers could make pretty much over night. It's not too late! The other change that roomie and I think the show needs is for Naomi's dad's mistress to have a son who Naomi discovers living in the beach house. We think he should be a sexy bad boy, who seduces all of the girls and seems alternatingly evil and vulnerable. He'd bring out something different in each of the girls' characters, appealing to Silver's dark side, and convincing Annie that he wants to change. For purposes of conversation, we decided that his name should be "Wolf." So every week, we're sitting and watching, and then we're like "Wouldn't it be great if Wolf showed up, and did X"?
Oh, 90210. How you torture me.
And now, it's off to NYC to SEE MY FAMILY!! I am SO excited. :)
